STCW'95 Regulation IV/2 of STCW'95 Convention, Section A-IV/2 of STCW'95 Code.
Certification Radio Communication Agency, Ministry of Transport (the
Netherlands) and Estonian Maritime Administration
Objective (GOC) A trainee successfully completing the course and passing the examination
will receive the renewed GOC GMDSS for next 5 years.
(ROC) A trainee successfully completing the course and passing the examination
will be enabled to efficiently operate the GMDSS equipment, and to have primary
responsibility for radio communications during distress incidents in GMDSS Area
A-1 waters (coasting trade covered by VHF).
Entry standards (GOC) The working knowledge of English as a second language and
elementary computer skills. The participants should pass the renewal test
for General Operators Certificate. The candidates should be holders of
certificates satisfying the requirements of Regulation II/1 and II/2 of the
STCW Convention or appropriate diploma and former GOC GMDSS.
(ROC) The working knowledge of English as a second language and
elementary computer skills. The candidates should be holders of
certificates satisfying the requirements of Regulation II/1 and II/2 of the
STCW Convention or appropriate diploma.
Program Based on IMO Model Course 1.25 "General Operator's Certificate for the
GMDSS".
Equipment SAILOR A3/A4 , SCANTI VHF DSC and Navtex NAV5 console, 2 Transas
simulator TGS-4100 and TGS -4100 Tutor Emergency Portable Radios (Jotron,
Mcmurdo,Sailor), overhead projector,video projector, whiteboard, ITU and
IMO Publications, etc.
Group 2 - 8 participants.
Duration (GOC) 40 hours / 1 week (including final examination).
(ROC) 30 hours / 4 days (including final examination).
Beginning On Monday / final examination on friday
